Watch Spotting At Oscars 2023, Where Michelle Yeoh Won The Best Artist

The biggest night in Hollywood has finally come. The Oscars 2023 got underway on Sunday night at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, where actors, actresses, directors, and other Academy members gathered to honor the year's best movies.

The 95th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, were held on 12 March 2023, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The ceremony, hosted by the popular late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, celebrated the best films and performances of the previous year.  

History was made during the Oscars 2023. Malaysian artist, Michelle Yeoh, has been crowned the victor, making her the first Asian woman to win a lead-actress Oscar in the awards show's 95-year history.

But what is more interesting for us, watch enthusiasts, is finding out which watches were worn at the ceremony. Did someone wear the Patek Philippe Nautilus Tiffany or Rolex Daytona Rainbow or even Rolex Sprite? Curious? Let's dive in without further ado.

Celebrating her win in the most stupendous of style, Michelle was seen wearing a piece unique or a one-off RM07-02 in clear sapphire made by Richard Mille. 

So, obviously not for sale. 

Congrats to Brendan Fraser, one of the most iconic actors in the 90's, for winning the Best Actor in a Leading Role award for 'The Whale.'

The iconic Speedmaster design has been blended with elements from OMEGA's chronograph wristwatches from the 1940s to create the Chronoscope series.

This 43 mm model has a silver dial and is made of stainless steel. The Arabic numerals, leaf-shaped hands, and bezel ring are all blued with a tachymeter scale. A special "spiral" track pattern runs beneath the numbers.

The dial is printed with three unique timing scales, including a tachymeter scale, a pulsometer scale, and a telemeter scale, all in the 1940s "snail" motif.

Attending the 95th Annual Academy Awards with Alyson Sandro, Hollywood actor Barry Keoghan was seen wearing his Omega Constellation Globemaster. 

For this model, the stainless steel case features a hard metal scratchproof fluted bezel with a blackened Constellation star and hands and indexes which have also been filled with luminous Super-LumiNova.

The caseback includes a stainless steel Central Observatory medallion, while the opaline silver "Pie Pan" dial is reminiscent of the first 1952 Constellation model.

A very nice and stylish timepiece was seen on Idris Elba's wrist at the Oscars 2023 ceremony. The watch comes from the House of Gucci. It is the yellow gold Gucci G-Timeless Planetarium which boasts central tourbillon dial with a star diamond, surrounded by 12 rotating beryl stones.

With its 12 gemstones circling the dial, the G-TIMELESS PLANETARIUM features the gem-set wheel which is activated through a button, rotating around the dial in a gala of light.

I couldn't find out the exact price, but I've heard it's worth around $300,000.

Rockstar Lenny Kravitz who performed at the ceremony was seen wearing  the JLC Reverso Classic Duoface Small Seconds Q3848422.

Attending the Oscars 2023, Questlove decided to wear his IWC Schaffhausen Portugieser Perpetual Calendar IW503404 in rose gold. The automatic watch has a 44.2mm diameter and features a perpetual calendar with displays for the date, day, month, and year in four digits and perpetual moon phase for the northern and southern hemispheres.

At the 2023 Oscars, actor Michael B. Jordan was seen rocking the limited edition watch from Tiffany and Co. that was released in 2019. It is the Tiffany and Co. Square 2-Hand.

Inspired by a 27mm square case from the 1920s, this Tiffany Square limited edition stainless steel watch is designed, crafted and produced in Switzerland by Tiffany's master watchmakers. This watch is limited to 450 pieces. The square manual winding movement and the white satin sunburst dial are unique. With the silver matte effect numerals, there is no lack of elegant and modern temperament.

Irish actor, Paul Mescal, who rose to fame with his role in the miniseries Normal People, earning a BAFTA TV Award and a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award also attended the ceremony. He was seen wearing his Cartier Tank Chinoise WGTA0074.

The watch features a grey sunray dial with polished grey steel sword-shaped hands, and a crown set with a ruby.

Ke Huy Quan, winner of Best Actor in a Supporting Role award for ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ poses in the press room during the 95th Annual Academy Awards at Ovation Hollywood.

Throughout the night, he was seen wearing the Omega Globemaster 130.33.39.21.02.001.

American actor Jay Ellis attended the event with a super sharp look. For the accessory on his wrist, he decided to wear a Cartier Tank Must with a diamond bezel.

For Oscars 2023, the spidey Andrew Garfield chose to wear the simple Omega De Ville Tresor with a black alligator strap. The watch features A domed opaline silvery dial that includes a date window at 6 o'clock as well as hands and indexes in 18K white gold. 

Retail price: $6,700.

Actor Harry Shum Jr. hit the red carpet in a stunning kimono-style jacket. On his wrist we can see an Omega De Ville Prestige with a black dial that features a sun-brushed finish. The pure look of the timepiece is completed by a date window at 6 o’clock and a railway minute track on the outer zone. 

Retail price: $4,300.

Since 2017, Rolex has been the proud sponsor of the Oscars ceremony. At the Oscars 2023, American media personality  Ryan Seacrest was seen wearing one of the Rolex watches - the yellow gold Rolex Daytona 116508 with a black dial. 

Current market price (March 2023): ~$58,000.

Attending the ceremony with his wife, actor Marc Consuelos brought the vintage goodness with a vintage Rolex Daytona 6263. From what I could find on internet, he wore the 6263 with a sigma dial where you can see the small Sigma symbol below the subdial at 6 o'clock. 

Current market price (March 2023) that I found on Chrono24 is around ~$90,000.

American actress who is most known for her performance in the 2022 film The Whale, for which she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and other supporting-actress awards, Hong Chau, was seen attending the ceremony in pink dress completed with a lady watch on her wrist.

She decided to wear the Panerai Luminor Due Luna Moonphase PAM01180, completed with a pink leather strap. 

Current market price is around ~$8,600.

British actor and rapper, Riz Ahmed, was seen wearing a Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Self-Winding 85180/000G-9230 in white gold. 

Inspired by the designs of the 1950s, the hour markers and hands gently follow the curve of the dial. At 6 o’clock, a simple aperture opens to reveal the date. Its openworked caseback reveals an elevated oscillating weight in 22K gold inspired by the Maltese cross. 

Retail price: $28,900.

John Cho sticks to a simple look regarding his timepiece for Oscars 2023. He was seen wearing the IWC Portofino Automatic IW356501. The 40mm stainless steel watch features a white dial and a date display at 6 o'clock.
