In this blog, I'm not going to dive into the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. hat's a significant and complex issue, but it's not the focus here, but I just hope that the war is gonna be over soon, so praying for peace and freedom for both countries. As a watch enthusiast, my interest lies elsewhere. I want to explore a different aspect of President Zelensky's persona – his taste in watches. It's always fascinating to see the personal style choices of world leaders like him, Joe Biden, Macron, Putin, Kim Jong Un, etc, and watches can say a lot about a person.

Interestingly, President Zelensky doesn't seem to be a major watch aficionado. So far, from what I've observed, he has only been seen wearing two different watches. This is somewhat uncommon, especially compared to other world leaders who often sport a variety of luxury timepieces. It suggests a certain simplicity or practicality in his approach to accessories, which is quite intriguing.

I vividly recall in March 2022, when I was fervently searching for a picture of President Volodymyr Zelensky wearing a watch. After two days of intense looking, I finally stumbled upon the photo. You can't imagine my excitement - it felt like finding an unexpected gift on the street! At that time, there was no information about the watch, so my colleague and I set out to identify it. Eventually, we discovered that in the picture, Volodymyr Zelensky is wearing the 45mm TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre Heuer 01. This watch exudes a robust, masculine elegance.

The chronograph watch showcases a sleek black dial, complemented by silver-tone hour markers and hands, along with three subdials offering detailed timing functions. It's powered by the Calibre Heuer 01 automatic movement, boasting a 50-hour power reserve, and encased in sturdy stainless steel. Water-resistant up to 100 meters, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Calibre Heuer 01 is versatile, perfect for both formal events and casual settings.

Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, is recognized not just for his political role but also for his interest in watches. Among his collection is the 38.5mm TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Automatic, crafted in stainless steel with a black 12-hour chronograph dial. 

This watch became famous when actor Steve McQueen wore it in the 1971 movie "Le Mans," making it a significant icon in the watch world. The design features a sporty yet elegant black dial with red and white markers, housed in a high-quality stainless steel case with an automatic movement. Though no longer in production, the TAG Heuer Monaco continues to be a favorite among watch collectors and enthusiasts globally. 

Zelensky's choice of this watch underscores his passion for luxury timepieces with notable history and style. 

This picture, showing him much younger, is obviously from a very long time ago, highlighting his longstanding appreciation for such classic watches.
